THE FINAL PARADISE

The trees grow in abundance, their leaves reaching for the ever present light. The peace in this part of the woods is only broken by the falling of the leaves onto the ground, the passing of the animals, a far away thudding and the breathing of the sole person who sits on the banks of the everflowing river. The water is clear and bright with the taste of pure paradise. The sun is touching the tips of the trees announcing the start of a new day and yet seeming to have been stopped by the weight of the sky.

From the river the trees touch the sky, their enormous branches reaching out to eternity and back, and yet in all their greatness they still die. They are murdered by man and his machines because of his never ending appetite of greed. In the distance a tree is falling and the loud crack of its final plea for mercy is heard before it is taken away, never to be thought of again. The pain of this killing is reflected in the river and on the face of the girl who lies within its grasp.

The river holds the life of so many others and yet still is willing to give. It feeds the killer without a thought and so gently caresses the feet of the girl on the bank. The fish are full of life from the water; jumping and rejoicing for their saviour. Life is eternal for these creatures, continuing until they too stop, never to move again. The reeds in the river sway with the flow of the water brushing past. They eat the food that the river supplies, never being greedy and never getting hungry. The perfection of this simple piece of nature is so amazing, yet no-one seems to see. No-one even cares.

The girl on the river is beautiful. Her hair is a magnificent white colour and reaches down past her shoulders. Her eyes are a deep brown, filled with life, so that one could be lost forever if looking upon them for too long. She wears a skin tight bodysuit covered with bright colours, as if it is a costume for a play where she portrays a sprite travelling along the river. The sun is just high enough to immerse her with light and warmth. Her hair takes in the light and propels a glow that covers her whole body. She sits and watches the water and the life it contains. She is happy.

The sky travels from the rising sun to the moon that is disappearing over the horizon to brighten up the night in another part of the world. Its colour is amazing as the red changes into yellow and then forms the blue that covers the world for so much of the lives of these creatures. From the sky comes a bird, a lone kingfisher coming to feed at the river's life, its beauty and grace equal to none. The final paradise.
